The Japanese word reiki, pronounced “ray key”, means universal (rei) life force (ki), or the energy that flows through all living things. Many cultures believe in and have different names for this energy: in India, it is prana; in China, it is chi; and in Greece, it is called pneuma. A reiki practitioner works to balance the body’s energy systems using gentle touch on a person who rests fully clothed on a massage table. Reiki sessions vary in length of time to suit your needs. Reiki is safe in any situation and never causes harm. Like massage, reiki is a modality for attaining relaxation, optimal health, personal growth, and transformation. |
